Timing a small pet's aftercare around Whitney's seasons

Where are the providers that serve Whitney actually based?
Some are local, and some run from Grand Prairie, about 53 miles away. That is normal for a town this size. What matters is the collection time they quote for Whitney and whether the drive is priced into the total, so ask both up front.
Does the Whitney climate change what I should do first?
Only the timing. In August, with highs near 97°F, cool the body and book collection the same day. Winters here are mild enough that burial or scattering is possible in any month.
Why does the Whitney page quote a human cremation rate?

Can a provider from a neighbouring town collect from Whitney?
Usually yes. Hillsboro is about 12 miles away, West is about 17 miles away and Cleburne is about 28 miles away, all inside a normal collection radius. Get the mileage written into the quote so there is no surprise on the day.
Can I scatter my rabbit's ashes in a Whitney park?
Public parks usually have their own rules, and some ask you to get permission first. With only a few tablespoons of ash, many families find burying a small tin or scattering in a private garden easier and more meaningful. If you do scatter somewhere public, choose a quiet spot away from paths and water, on a still day.
My pet was put to sleep. Can I still bury them at home?
You can in most places, but the grave needs to be deep. The drug used for euthanasia stays in the body and can poison foxes, dogs, cats or birds of prey that dig it up. Dig well down, lay a paving slab on top, and keep away from ponds and streams. If that isn't practical, cremation is the safer choice.
