Some families place the pet's container beside a relative's. Others prefer something the child can hold. Since 2003, US labels for euthanasia drugs have carried a warning that euthanized animals must be disposed of so that scavenging wildlife can't eat them[7]. That's why vets in California and elsewhere often suggest cremation after euthanasia, or a well-protected grave with a heavy slab over it.

What to do when your rabbit or guinea pig dies in Fresno
